As a photographic society our exhibitions are one of our primary means of engaging with students outside of PhotoSoc and with the general public.
In November 2009 we had an exhibition at Varsity bar on West Street, and in Spring 2010 held a much larger exhibition for our members to show off their work with pride to the rest of Sheffield. We raised over £100 for the Sheffield Royal Society of the Blind. In 2012 we held a small exhibition for the Sheffield Alumni Foundation, who provided us with additional funding for that year.
We received some great feedback from the Varsity exhibition, and you can view a few photos of the event in our photo gallery.
Here’s what some of our visitors said about it:
“Fantastic show – great to see such evidence of genuine passion and enthusiasm!”
“Really loved the diverse styles and approaches taken by each photographer.”
“Really enjoying the variation and high standard of photography. Well organised and lovely displays.”
“Lovely exhibition: makes me feel very motivated to keep snapping with my camera.”
