Thanks a lot,

Another theme in the article is whether technology is damaging library attendence. Please make sure there is some consistency between the pieces e.g. a similiar colour scheme.

Last calls, new beginnings and more! :)

Hello you lovely photographers,

Work with the Union Marketing department

The Marketing Department in the Students’ Union is looking for 3 or 4 student photographers to add to their pool of photographers. We regularly use students to take photos of events in and around the Students’ Union, and also to take photos to add to our photo library. We also regularly require product shots for use on promotional material. The photographers will work on a particular project and are paid on an hourly rate (Students’ Union casual wage rate). If you are interested in joining us please email for more details.

We will ask you to do a task (unpaid initially) to give us an idea of what you can do, and we will select the best 3 or 4 photographers to be added to our pool, based on this task. This will need to be completed by Friday 11 February.

Last call: Friends of the Peak District ‘Winter’ competition

The Friends of the Peak District charity (who work to care and protect the national park landscapes) are after any wintery images of the Peak District or South Yorkshire that would make good Christmas cards you’d be willing to donate for their 2011 Christmas card. They normally run this as a competition, so the two winning photographers can have two packs and a free years membership of our charity. Your name will be printed on the back of the cards and on their website. Free publicity and a warm fuzzy feeling! Email your photos to

Winter Varsity

The Sports Officer (Emma Bird) is looking for photographers to cover this years Winter Varsity events! The first is the Ice Hockey at the Sheffield Arena on 12th Feb with face-off at 2.45pm. Experience / portfolio work

“I’d like to offer an opportunity to any student photographers or amateur photographers who are looking to build their portfolio. I’m open to ideas and willing to explore different styles with the photographer, but the basic gist is that my boyfriend and I would like some photo-journalistic style photos taken, most probably outside, rather than a studio setting.

I can be contacted at this email address,

Many thanks for your time :)

Dani & Sam”

Talent Show Event Photographer

Trish Hughes is organising a charity event on the 12th March in Endcliffe park to raise money for the British Kidney Patient Association. Park of this is a fashion show and Trish has asked for a photographer or two to come and photograph the event. Several other union societies are going to be performing, such as Sing Soc, Useless, the Cheer-leaders and SUTCO too, so is a great event to get lots of great unique pictures. There is also an after party so it looks like a great event to get involved in! Email if you are interested!
