The society has just been invited to the National University Photographic Society (NUPS) annual Photo Hunt in London! This is when Uni Photo Socs from all over the country meet together in central London to be separated into competing teams to find and take photos of a series of hidden landmarks (so like a magnified version of the hunt we had at our first meeting). This is an excellent opportunity to meet like-minded photographers from other Universities and, of course, to have a weekend away in London!
The Hunt is on Saturday the 24th of November, and an info pack can be found here. There’s a social on Saturday night so we’ll stay overnight in a hostel and leave on Sunday evening after another day exploring London (not photo hunt related, just because we’re down there). The hostel will be no more than £25 and the train tickets £25 return (with a railcard).
Exact details will be confirmed when I know numbers, as booking what hostel will affect tube prices etc. If you are interested please reply to this email by the 20th of October. I will also need payment for the hostel by that time (I’m hoping to get it less than 25 dolla, so you will get the difference back if this happens). Good hostels book up fast and the other Universities will be trying to book the same ones, so I will book on Saturday the 20th and no later!
Now that’s said, I will now like to point out that London is AWESOME! So many photo opportunities, so little time, but time enough to show all the other unis how great Sheff Uni is! (No PhotoSoc at Hallam, so no home competition either). LET’S GO! :-)
