This Saturday afternoon (the 6th) we are planning a spot of walking and scenic snapping in the Peak District.
Here is the plan?.
Meet us at Sheffield train station at 1:30pm. We will buy tickets and jump on a train to Grindleford. This will cost ?2-3 with a railcard and ?4-5 without one and take 20 minutes. Sean and Kit will be at Endcliffe at 1pm sharp if any first years want to walk down to the train station with them.
Depending on how much walking you want to do, you can head off up past the Bolehill Quarry (lots of millstones) to a scenic viewpoint overlooking the valley and then down into Burbage Brook. If you want some fresh air but are perhaps still feeling a little fragile after your Friday night then the Longshaw Estate is only a short walk from the train station where there is a small tearoom and various trails. It?s also the deer rutting season so fingers crossed there will be a lot of deer around that at this time of year are fairly indifferent to people…
We should be back in Sheffield between 7pm and 8pm after getting the train home (just how late will depend on the quality of the sunset, the weather and how long we stay in the pub for!)
Don?t forget your railcard if you have one, walking boots and waterproofs. It would also a great help if you ?attend? on our facebook event so we have a rough idea of numbers. https://www.facebook.com/events/187646864704756/
Looking forward to seeing you all,
Rosie (the one that makes the cake) and the committee :)
PS. This means no meeting tomorrow evening!
