PhotoSoc are setting up some links with Sheffield-based charity Project Buzz which provides play, social and educational activities for families in the local community in a safe, inclusive and positive environment.
They have asked us if we would run a taster session in photography for kids aged 6-11 years, which might later turn into a regular after-school photography club. The taster session will be in June when most people’s exams are finished, and the regular club would most likely start in September 2011.
Because it is volunteering with children, everyone involved will need a CRB check/List 99 check, which will be done through Sheffield Volunteering (in the Union) who will also give us lots of help and guidance with the session itself.
This is a fantastic opportunity to share your enjoyment of photography to inspire and teach young people something new which they can then explore themselves. If you think you’d like to be a part of this project, either for a one-off or for a regular commitment, please reply to the post in the forum or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
And whether you’re signing up or not, it would be great if you could share any ideas for activities/games that we could include in the taster session – again just reply to the forum post or email PhotoSoc directly!
We hope to hear from lots of you soon!
Love and hugs,
