A few competitions…

Hello Photosoc! Just to let you know about a few competitions that have come to our attention. Photography related competitions that is.

Confucius Institute at the University of Sheffield presents
CHINA IN PHOTOGRAPHS COMPETITION 2011
Submit up to 5 of your own photographs from China for consideration under the following categories:
*Landscapes & Cityscapes
*Famous Sites
*Portraits
*Culture & Customs
*Everyday Life
*Artistic Images

Closing date for receipt of entries: Thursday 5 May 2011.
Selected entries will be on display at the University of Sheffield in late May/early June. Winners will be announced June 1st.
All photographs MUST be printed size 7×5 inches on photographic paper and have your name and contact details appended to the reverse. Submitted photographs cannot be returned after the contest.
Please also e-mail a title and up to 100 words describing each photograph to confucius@sheffield.ac.uk.
All entries should be sent to: Confucius Institute at the University of Sheffield, 5 Shearwood Road, Sheffield, S10 2TD

Also, childhood bereavement charity Winston’s Wish are holding an amateur photography competition with the theme “My Wish for 2012”. Winners will feature in their 2012 calendar to help raise money for the charity, and the overall winner receives £100. Up to four digital images can be emailed to photos@winstonswish.org.uk by 1st May to participate.

Not to forget Photosoc’s collaborative competition with Engineers without borders “Sustainable Photography Competition!” £1 entry, submit by May 20th a digital image with the theme “A Sustainable Future”.
