Things you should know about (and get involved with!)

Hello all,

We’ve had a few more email opportunities come through which you might fancy trying your hand at… First up, the University’s Stop the Traffik Society are running a competition to design a poster or produce a piece of art which could be the focal point of an awareness raising campaign. The theme (unsurprisingly) is ‘human traffiking’ but there are no other guidelines. The deadline is the 1st December. If you have any questions please email the President, Dan, on djhwand@gmail.com.

And we’ve had one from South Yorkshire Police needing a hand with a “community cohesion project” in Sheffield. This would make a really good documentary/portraiture project for someone’s portfolio… They need help taking photos of Sheffielders (is that a word?!) to build up a picture library of positive images of people that recognise and celebrate diversity in the city. You’d receive expenses as well as being involved in a pretty rewarding project! :) If you’d be interested, please email the Community Engagement Officer brendan.pakenham@southyorks.pnn.police.uk.

Thanks for reading and see you all later today for some Bokeh related fun :) (Lecture Theatre 9, Arts Tower, 7pm)

Love PHOTOSOC xx
