1. This social is fancy, fancy dress, with the theme being whatever you want it to be!

We’ll be starting in Interval, covered in costumes, with a drink in one hand and a disposable camera in the other, working our way down West Street to Lava Lounge, via some cool bars and pubs. Get your gladrags on and join us!


We have had quite a few emails from the guys at forge and they have lots of stuff for us to do!

Many big photo-journalists start out with their student paper, so it really is worth the effort to go out and get some shots for them. You will find ways of taking better pictures through them, and also get the chance to photograph some really unique stuff, anything from big name authors, big name bands. They have a few requests for the next issue. Go to to sign up to their mailing lists.

We did a trip around there last year, so if you have any pictures of the park hill flats, forge would greatly appreciate it if you could send a picture over to¬† easy to do, since they’ll already be on your computer. No need to get cold…


Something not to be missed!

Organised by Mary Anne Hobbs of Forge,¬†professional photographer Shaun Bloodworth is giving a masterclass for aspiring (in particular, press) photographers. This is a great opportunity to improve your skills. –

Shaun will talk on, how personal projects lead to career paths, how to deal with people and difficult situations, work methods and practical digital methods. EXCITING. email to book a place. It is advised to bring your camera. Friday 12th November 14:00-15:00.

2. Want your peak district photos made into Christmas cards?! Yes you do.

Friends of the Peak District are asking for wintry Peak District photos to be donated for next years Christmas cards. If yor photo(s) are selected, then you’ll get several packs of cards, a years membership to the charity and a press release! You’ll be properly credited and everything of course, so what are you waiting for! Snow, probably…. but there is at least mist around!

3. Want to be official photographer for the “The Flowerpot Presents: New Years Eve At The HMV Forum with Foals”? Of course.
